Kierstin Hettler, Associate Director, School Partnerships
Kierstin has spent her entire career working to support youth in both school and out-of-school time settings in the urban education and non-profit sectors. After graduating from Hampshire College with a BA in Early Childhood Education and Theater for Young Audiences, Kierstin worked with the Austin Independent School District as an AmeriCorps VISTA, before transitioning to working in OST via the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. There, she worked for 6 years in various roles, including Club Director, Curriculum Specialist, and Director of Education. As Director of Education, she supervised various literacy, STEM, and fine arts initiatives across all 27 Club sites, while training and coaching Club-based staff. In response to her passion for positive youth development, Kierstin returned to school and received her MA from Michigan State University where she studied Youth Development. As Associate Director of School Partnerships with Ramapo for Children, Kierstin manages the planning, development, and implementation of contracts with school partners. She also has the opportunity to support OST partners as a trainer and coach.
