Amber Allen-Latham, SAE Program Coordinator/Permaculture Director
Amber is a former Camp Ramapo counselor who began her career in camping at the age of 16. Her passion for the therapeutic process of helping people achieve their goals in an outdoor setting led her to pursue degrees in Developmental Psychology and Special Education at Keene State College in New Hampshire. Prior to returning to Ramapo in 2013, Amber worked with people with developmental disabilities as a case manager, teacher, advocate and employment specialist. Her most recent role was as Director of Camp Huntington, a summer camp for youth with special needs. As an SAE Program Coordinator and the Permaculture Director, Amber helps Staff Assistants care for Ramapo’s gardens, greenhouse, and corral animals, and leads special projects such as composting, rainwater collection, maple sugaring, and canning of Ramapo’s garden produce for sale at a local farmers’ market.
